Published in the Herald Magazine Saturday, Nov. 26, 1960. "This map shows some of the old landmarks of Calgary in the early days, as well as names by which downtown streets and avenues used to be known until the system of numbers was adopted in 1904. May of the names were those of leading CPR officials, like Stephen and Angus. Basically, this map shows locations of some of the old landmarks prior to 1900, but it is impossible to indicate all the pioneer business places which may hae been established on one site from the time some of the first settlers folded their tents on the east bacnk of the Elbow and moved westward to begin setting up a new town around the site of the present CPR station about 1884.' Facsimile map. Photocopy taken from The Herald Magazine, Saturday, Nov. 26, 1960. Original base map survey by A.W. McVittie. Includes inset, street names and text. Small map of Calgary, N.W.T. 1884 (subdivision of a part of section 15, township 24, range 1, west of the 5th Meridian). Shows dates and locations of early buildings.
