Most of the collars belonging to thes sets are large, following the style of the re- vers and japela on the new . suits, which extend to the waistline and below it. Maline choux and stocks have al- ways been more or less fashlonabie for wear with the tailored coat, for there is something exquisitely . soft and becoming about the twist of tulle sround the neck, or the smart bow of tulle beneath the chin, in contrast with the trim lines of a tailored suit The new tulle or maline neckwear has a further touch of daintiness in the way of pearl bead trimming. If. ithe bow Is a simple affair with loops The New Topcoats GEMEREADY Overcoats for the season have a swing and drape which marks the highbred garment. Every touch of the skilful artisan is evident in the designing and tailoring. Few men nowadays think of having an Overcoat made in the retail way when such an array of styles and textures are offered in the finer conceptions of Semi-ready Tailoring at 15 to 30 for garments so exquisitely turned out. The malines stocks have strand necklaces with clasps set at intervals, the pretty pearl necklace being tacked lightly tothe outside of the stock. Narrow bands of fur trimming are used en evening and house gowns of. chiffon, net, brocaded satin, velvet and charmeuse. Fur scarfs are nearly as wide as wraps. A wide long scarf of Hudson seal is attract- ive when trimmed with a band uf white fox, and moleskin trimmed with ermine 1s veny fashionable. Wraps of mottled velour are often trimmed with marabout. Bands of fur are usedas trimming on frocks of all fabrics, fom the pactical sege to. the creation of lace. Very smart girdles are made of soft chiffon velvet or velvet ribbon, and narrow girdles of chiffon or net, solidly beaded to match. the color scheme of the gown; have ends ex- tending down the side of the skirt ifnished with tassels of beads, -Velvet jackets are worn with skirts of broadcloth, They vary in length Coat sleeves with very little fulness. The seain of those cut in sections are corded, Velvet flowers are still used as corsage decorations. Huge scarlet roses, or those in a dull red, give a distinctive touch, and sometimes are the only bit of color on evening gowns. Small flowers. by the yard are also used, made of chiffon oc narrow ribbon in delicate pastel tints. A pretty conceit Is the placing of a tiny flower to match the corsage bouquet on the vamp of the shoe or slipper. The flower is attached by means of a small patent fastener. and can thus be renewed as often as necesary. All-over beaded nets, sewn with the Uniest beads imaginable and very close together, ar used for th up- per part of evening bodices, the chief material of the gown being velyet in rich dark tones, or supple charmeuse and chiffon. In many cases when the skirt is slashed at the foot below the drapery a section of beaded net is introduced with charming effect. These beaded nets are in pearls, crystals, Combinations of both with Tiet, cut stgalefind: some gold and sil- ver, cae black or white found- ations. 5 + uttongs in remarkable shapes and re sean in great profusion, ig Sroriliemall bullet buttons to ens, squares, octogans gt; the costume are: among this season's novelties. It is impossible to sey that any fone style of trimmings predominates in millinery at the present time, al- though there is a decided tendency to trim hats of all kinds low. While some of the smaller shapes are shown with high front trimings, the majority of hats intended for elther formal or informal wear have low, or medium low, trimming arrange- ments. It is permissible this season to place trimmings on any po-tion of the hat. Front, side, back, all around, top crown arangemenis and upper brim and under brim trimmings are shown in such a variety of styles that they baffle description. Any arrangement that will suit the style of the wearer is correct. The gen- eral tendency is toward the more simple trimming effects. The street hat of felt or plush is often seen without any trimming. *Ostrich feathers, which are perhaps the most popular trimming for hats at present, are used elaborately, of- ten trailing gracefully down the back or side of the hat or swirled around the crown. They are used in both curled and -uncurled effects, with a preperence given the latter. Nov- elty. effects-in ostrich--plumes- are very much in use, as well as. para- dise and fancy feather effects, Pleot edge. ribbon and velvet and silk flow-. ers are used considerably.
