Calgary Exhibition and Stampede band with special guest, Reverend Father Doucet.
In 1925, the Calgary Fair Board celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of the Reverend Father Doucet, Oblates of Mary Immaculate, guest of honour and head of Stampede parade. It was said that Father Doucet was the first white man that the Royal Canadian Mounted Police met when a party came from Fort Macleod to pick a site for a fort near the junction of the Bow and Elbow rivers. Father Doucet was camped near this spot with a First Nations boy, and recollected that the first policeman to speak with him was Sergeant King. L-R: Reverend Father McDonald; E. L. Richardson; manager, Father Doucet; Guy Weadick, stampede manager; Jack Dillon, assistant stampede manager; Charles Baker, president of fair board.
