Martin Henry Donohire to the Dally-Chront- i from the Turkish lines, under date of Chatalja, Noy. 7: The flight of Abdulish Pasha's army. to Constantinople has been ar rested by the action of the Turkish -govertiment. The ministers muster- ed, what men they could and sent them to cover the roads at Stamboul, Soldiers of Abdullah's forces find themselves at bay between Bulgarians and Turkish forces. The army arrived at Tchatalja ut- terly demoralized. The road irom Tehorlu to Tchatalja js a mud track converted by rains into a quagmire, Many fugitives are frostbitten, wind- Dblistered andin-the last stage of weariness and hunger. All are covered with imud from head to foot, The horses which were killed or died from exhaustion have been eat- en by the famished soldiers. The last train from Tchorlu had to pro ceed with caution to avold the deeap- tation of many soldiers who had fal- len on the line. This train was hastily filed with wounded, Many women and children were also carried a well as Abdullah Pasha s staff, fortign attaches and newspaper correspondents. Women Were crushed and suffocated in the terrible journey. The train traveiled slowly and the fleeing soldiers clam- bered on it every four hundred yards. So crowded was'the train, that lit- tle of it was visible save the funnel of the locomotive. A staff officer got Tito s panic and gave orders to un- couple and abandon the carriages in which the wounded were being car- ried, and the two m dical officers in charge of the injured drew their re- volvers and threatened to shoot the officer and the engineer of the train, Under menace of the revolvers, the officer surrendered, the carringes were reconpled and the train resumed its journey. When the wounded men died dur- ing the journey their Yodies wert litte out of the train and laid by the wayside to give additional room to the living. The Tehatalja road is impassable. The Turkish government is hurrying forward supplies end munitions. The weather is mild and dry, otherwise none of Abdullah's army could have survived.
