Dispatch) New York, Feb, 1 The New York American has the following cable des- patch from London: The Duke of Fite s successor to the Farldom of Fife will be Jekel Camers Ruff, who bas been for several years a politician in Australia. Politician Duff will inherit not only the title of Earl of Fife but also the title V: count Kornuft and Baron Bracom. No property goes with the title and the peerage does not carry with it the right to a seat in the House of Lords as t is an Irish peerage. There is love and romance back of this mixup in title. Fife was almost a landless Earl until Princess Lowsia fell in love with him. The riaFriage was opposed by the Royal Family for fa long time. Queen Victoria finally ylelded to the lovers and gave her blessing to the match. She made Fife a Duke. This explains why the Duke- dom goes to her daughter who Js of royal blood, but the other titles go to his family.
