Ruth and Don Lyon were holidaying in the Vancouver area last week when they were injured in a traffic accident. Ruth is in Abbots- ford, BC hospital with a cracked pelvis, cuts and bruises; Don has been re- leased with broken ribs and is convalescing at Ruth s bro- ther's home in Sardis, BC Recent reports indicate that Ruth is now attempting to become mobile in a walker and may soon be released to join her hubby at Sardis. A very disappointing conclusion to a much earned and eagerly anticipated holiday. Joyce and Wayne Lowther of Camrose, Alberta, formerly Barons residents, were visit- ing in town this week. Mrs. Jean Burns has re- turned from a two month visit to Scotland and England. Eugene Groten has re- turned from an exchange visit on a farm at Ormstown, Quebec. He was one of 16 4-H members from South Alberta on the tour for nine days. Later on one of the boys from Ormstown will pay a return visit to Eugene. Mrs. Peggy Driver of Oso- yoos, BC and her daughter, Mrs. Camie Seebach of North Vancouver called in to visit Mrs. Alice McDougal . on Wednesday. Those visiting Clarence Robinson from Nanton this past week were Wilbur Com- stock, Mrs. Helen Halverson and Duart Smith. Also visit- ing Clarence was his sister Mrs, Ethel Tuesday. Malchow, on Mrs. Maud Fawcett-of-Fort Macleod and her sister Ethel - of Cincinnati, Ohio, visited Mrs. Winnie Murray on Monday of last week. Mrs. Mildred Morrison vis- ited her son and daughter-in- law, Don and Hazel Morrison last Sunday spending the night with them, on Monday they all journeyed to, Calgary for the day, returning home in the evening. Mrs. G. Bohne enjoyed several days this past week visiting Marvin and Audrey Sparks. Thursday morning Ned Brown was admitted to Claresholm General Hospital. We wish you a speedy recovery, Mr. Brown. Residents and staff extend get well-wishes to Mrs. Mabel Currence, in Calgary Foot- hills; Mrs. Currence had the misfortune to: fall and break her hip on Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Matt West- agard of Fort St. John visited their uncles, Roy-and Dave Miller, this past week. First they were at Dave's where they enjoyed a big dinner and Uncle Roy joined them. Before they left this area they called in to visit Uncle Roy here. This past week Roy spent two days in Calgary. He also spent two separate days in Lethbridge this same week. He remarked that considering our hot dry summer, he saw some good looking crops, though the grassland to the south looks parched and burnt. Larry Schumacher and his brother Clarence spent a day fishing at Chain Lakes on several different occasions, this past week or so. Larry has been bringing their.. catch home to the Lodge. CLARESHOLM TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Town of Claresholm in the Province of Alberta has given first reading to By-law Ne. 1123 which will, on final passage and approval, authorize Council to guarantee repayment of all monies which may be borrowed by the Claresholm Community Centre Association up to but not exceeding 160,000.00, such monies to be used for the construction of a Community Hall. The estimated total cost of the aforesaid project amounts to 430,000.00. After deducting from this cost the amount of 270,000.00, to be contributed by contributions and grants (NIP grant 200,000.00, Local Donations 70,000.00), the net amount to be borrowed by the Claresholm Community Centre Association, the repayment of which will be guaranteed by the Town of Claresholm is 160,000.00.
