Vance Rodewalt was the political cartoonist for the Calgary Herald newspaper. Issue: Federal politics; national unity and Quebec separatism. A statue of Charles de Gaulle, French general and statesman, gives the middle figure to a memorial cairn which states 'Plains of Abraham On this site in 1759 the English defeated the French.'
