Landscape overlooking a glacial valley from the Athabasca Glacier terminal moraine

This image is of the landscape overlooking the terminal moraine at the Athabasca Glacier. Terminal moraines are a mix of sediment that was carried along and driven forward by glacial movement. Sediments include sand, gravel, till and boulders and rarely show any grading or bedding. These moraines mark the greatest extent of the glacier and curve convexly down the valley. This image also highlights the dip in stratigraphy along either wall of the valley and variety in size and type of deposits.
