The church was built 1887 at the northeast corner of McTavish Street (now Centre Street) and MacIntyre Avenue (now 7th Avenue). Dr. Neville Lindsay bought and demolished the church, using the sandstone for his never-completed mansion (Lindsay's Folly). The York Hotel was later built on the church site.
