K-12 Indigenous Curriculum Resources
The Indigenous Curriculum Resources collection aims to connect Indigenous perspectives to the current Alberta curriculum to complement kindergarten to grade twelve studies. Each folder is organized by subject and grade level and contains digital archival materials relevant to the topics and learning objectives for each area of study. This collection functions as an educational resource to respectfully incorporate Indigenous knowledge into classroom conversations and expand upon the topics covered in each subject to diversify and support student learning. With these materials, users may observe how Indigenous ways of knowing have been documented over time through various documents, images and archival materials. This documentation is flawed but brings greater understanding of how our shared past has formed our current reality.
Materials are primarily sourced from the Glenbow Library and Archives collection but include images from other sources, including the Dene Crafts and Herbarium collections.
