William Edward 'Bill' Plowman was born in London, England. He came to Canada and worked as a wood-turner in Edmonton, prior to enlisting in the 49th Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force. Five years ago he became house steward of the local branch of the Canadian Legion at the Memorial Hall. Photograph shows Doctor L. C. Morris, who attended the deceased in his last illness. Directly behind the doctor is Captain Bury. Captain W. R. Baker representing Colonel T. C. Sims, commander of the Edmonton Garrison, is shown in the foreground with Lieutenant Hay in the rear.
