Duncan Campbell family, Fort Macleod, Alberta.

L-R back row: Duncan John Campbell Sr.; Duncan Campbell Jr.; Eleanor Campbell. L-R front row: Archibald Campbell; Charles Campbell; Lola Campbell. Duncan Jr. died while serving overseas with the 31st Alberta Battalion in 1916. A native of St. Hilaire, Quebec, Duncan Campbell Sr., moved to the west in 1882. He first was under contract to supply beef to First Nations until the Canadian Pacific Railway reached Gleichen. In 1905 he was appointed Sheriff of the Macleod Judicial District. He was adjutant of the Rocky Mountain Rangers during the Riel Rebellion.
